The first step is to schedule a virtual consultation with Dr. Iraniha to determine if you are a suitable candidate for traveling to our Orange County cosmetic surgery procedures center. During this consultation, we will discuss your goals, medical history, the laparoscopic surgery procedure itself, recovery expectations, risks of surgery, and any concerns you may have. My office coordinator will follow up with you via email and phone to go over laparoscopic surgery date options, necessary preoperative tests and blood work, as well as nearby accommodations and nursing agencies for postoperative care, if needed.
Traveling for cosmetic surgery set dates and plans.
Once your surgery date is set, plan to arrive a day before the procedure. It’s advisable to stay for 4 days after laparoscopic surgery and 7 days after a full tummy tuck and liposuction. All preoperative testing can be completed in your home state prior to your arrival.
On the day of laparoscopy surgery in Orange County, expect to stay at our facility for a few hours. After the procedure, you’ll spend some time in the recovery room before heading back home. Be sure to arrange for someone to pick you up and assist you during this time. Having a nurse is not strictly necessary for home care and a family member can be sufficient. If you are traveling for cosmetic surgery alone, nursing agencies are available for postoperative care, and we can provide you with that information upon request.
After surgery, follow the verbal and written care instructions closely. Monitor your incisions and manage any pain with prescribed medications. Remember, recovery varies by individual, so give yourself the time you need.
Routine follow-up appointments will occur: 4 days after laparoscopic repair for dressing changes, and 7 days after a full tummy tuck and liposuction to remove drains. After these visits, you will be cleared to travel back home.
Be prepared for follow-up appointments virtually to ensure your healing is on track. Normally, postoperative follow-ups occur at one week, two weeks, six weeks, three months, and six months after surgery. It typically takes two weeks for wounds to heal and six weeks for muscle repair to reach full strength. Once cleared at six weeks post-surgery, you can gradually ease back into exercise.
