DRI Tuck vs Traditional Tummy Tuck
DRI Tuck vs Traditional Tummy Tuck. The DRI Tuck is my signature procedure, developed after decades of abdominal surgery.
Unlike a traditional tummy tuck, the DRI Tuck begins with a laparoscopic repair of diastasis recti — restoring core strength from the inside out.
Then, I combine it with a mini skin excision to remove loose tissue and sculpt the abdomen with a MUCH smaller scar than a traditional tummy tuck
This means:
• No drains
• A smaller scar
• Faster recovery
• A result that is both functional and aesthetic.
The DRI Tuck was designed because patients needed more than just a cosmetic fix — they needed a true abdominal wall reconstruction that also delivers a flat, natural contour
What is DRI Tuck?
The Dri Tuck procedure is a minimally invasive alternative to traditional tummy tuck surgery. It combines laparoscopic repair of diastasis recti and abdominal wall hernias with a mini mini tuck to remove excess skin and reinforce muscle repair. This procedure is recommended for patients experiencing abdominal muscle separation, hernias, muscle laxity, and excess skin, particularly those with less excess skin, older patients, or individuals with underlying medical conditions seeking a less invasive option. The Dri Tuck Surgery procedure offers several advantages, including fewer postoperative complications, excellent muscle repair with a reduced chance of recurrence of diastasis recti, no need for mesh or drains, faster recovery, no scarring around the umbilicus, and outstanding aesthetic results. It is performed as an outpatient procedure in our Orange County Body Contouring surgery center and typically it takes 2-3 hours under anesthesia.
What is Diastasis recti
Diastasis recti refers to the separation of the anterior abdominal muscles, commonly known as the “six-pack” muscles. This condition frequently affects women post-pregnancy but can also manifest Diastasis recti in men, particularly those with a genetic predisposition or significant obesity. Individuals with diastasis recti often experience a noticeable bulge in the abdominal wall, accompanied by symptoms such as lower back pain, diminished core muscle strength, and poor posture explained by Dr. Iraniha Expert Diastasis Recti Surgery.
